On May 9th in 2018, we presented at the CTO Talks event organized by Tehnopol with a talk titled „Sustainable Software Development“. In addition to us, Oracle and Skype were also invited to present. The event was aimed at CTOs and other specialists dealing with software related topics.
The main topics covered were questions such as: what are the new and rapidly changing technologies that CTOs should pay more attention to today; what are the daily concerns and challenges that technical leaders need to address. Our presentation was specifically targeted at those who need a clearer understanding of how effective software procurement and development take place: which development partners to involve; which approaches and technologies to choose; what values a software developer should have to ensure that the developed software is of high quality and flexible, i.e., modifiable whenever and however; that it meets the goals set by the client; and additionally, is sustainable in terms of future development opportunities so that any strong developer in the same field can and would want to further develop the software in the future (to avoid dependency on a single specific supplier).
The presentation created pleasant interactivity. There was a discussion among the audience and questions were asked. It seems that the topic is very relevant and welcomed in today's Estonia, which is why we believe that this presentation will not be the last.
